B6 ESP button replacement??
« on: March 03, 2010, 03:22:44 PM »
Hi all,

This is pretty much a known issue to B6; ESP button is peeling. I can get the switch from ECS but don't know how to replace it. Can anyone show me or tell me how to take it out so I can put the new one in?

Thanks.

Found this:

If you just put a small pocket size screw driver under the switch and pry it out levering against the radio, it should come right out. You do not need to pop off the trim pad above it but it pulls straight back off if you pry under and behind the ends. A small hook makes it easier, but it can be done with a screw driver.

Also maybe try using somthing a little flatter like a butter knife and use a clothe or something to protect the stereo. There must be a tab on top or bottom of ESP button ?

Hope this helps.

Just looked at the switch nothing special holding it in. Just pops out. A little metal piece on top just holds it in place.
