My A4
« on: April 05, 2008, 08:08:47 PM »
2003 Audi A4 3.0 Quattro Sport

Done:

Lip spoiler.
Debadged bootlid.
Debadged front grille.
Painted Lowers.
German Font Plates.
Tint (35% rear 25% front).
Dark tinted rear clusters.
FK Angel eye Headlights.
ABT front splitter (i dont like the badge in the middle of this and want to remove it).
19" TSW Thruxton Wheels with F1 Eagle Tyres (much comfyer than I expected, hardly any different from the factory 17's).
Stock sports suspention but with RS4 sway bars works well and sits nice so im not changing that.
D-catted (just with hollowed out cats) and remapped ECU.

To do:

Rear splitter, but i havent found one I like yet.
S4 or in-pro Mat mirrors (trying to find somone who stocks them)
2 x Magnaflow back boxes purchased, just need to get it in to have them fitted.
RS4 Steering wheel and Pedals inside
PES Supercharger (got a savings account going for this, shouldnt be to long)

Probably lots more once the above is done.

Looks good mate. A good alternative nowadays for the PES charger in terms of software is to get GIAC/Vast performance to do a custom tune. Although he's in MI, and I don't know where you are from..

Quick question. that front bumper. how much did you pay for it and where did you find it? cuz im seeing them all over ebay and im heading in the same direction as you, buyin a front bumper, and painting the rest of my lowers black. look at my a4, its in the pic submissions. tell me what you think.

thanks. oh and i like the taillights you found on ebay, i was lookin at em but thought they were a bit too pricy, but if you got the cash then get them, they look really nice.

I got the splitter (not full bumper, it fits onto the standard top half bumper cover) from Stafford Audi, i went and paid £250 cash I rang first and bargained for it on the phone as the price is £300 normally.

I like your car ive checked it out before, it will look good with this splitter and painted lowers.

the lights are  alitle pricey, they are priceyer than you even realise, because they need a resistor connector (a box that sits between the cluster and the car loom so the bulb warnings dont keep going off) which he charges an extra £70 for.  I will get them next week though i think they will be worth it.

reminds me i need to make some kind of resistor connector for my front lights, the angel eyes keep telling my car the front left and right parking bulbs have gone which is very annoying when it beeps at you every morning.  I was wondering if the bulb warning system can be disabled via software at all ?

i believe if you get a vagcom you should be able to clear your error messages.

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=vag+com&category0=

google it.

thanks for your reply!

I have vag com and a cable,

the bulb warning isnt the same as otehr warnings its a detection system for finding bulbs that are dead, it stops warning when the bulb it mentions is replaced, however because my sidelights are angel eyes made up of LED`s it thinks there is no bulb present (I presume because they dont draw as much current as a standard sidelight bulb).

the dirty fix is to bridge the wires with a resistor that draws similar current, and therefore it thinks there are bulbs, i wondered if there was a cleaner way like for example completely disabling the bulb warning system via software ?.  I cant see how via vag com but maybe ?  ile research more.  Thanks
