Audi A4 Power Window Switch question

anyone know the power window switch 8Z0 959 851 F 5PR and 8Z0 959 851 D 5PR have any different?

where did you get the part numbers?

The only one i see in my etka is 8H0 959 851 A... when i click on it it says available in colors - I wonder if the letters are indicating color

I'd find it unlikely that they had A, B, C, D, E and F part revisions.

As of August 2005 the D revision was dropped and the new replacement part is the F revison. No they shouldn't be any different other than maybe the D rev had some issues which were fixed in the F rev. I don't know.

This question is about a 2005 A4 Cabriolet.

Is it possible to replace the (driver's side) window switches without removing the door panel?  Is there some way to release that small panel of switches?  It looks like there is a small hole under the handle that maybe releases the switch panel, but I don't know what kind of tool it takes... some kind of Torx driver?

No - you need to remove the door panal . Window switches drop down out not up and out. Youve read this i assume?

Thanks.  Yes, I had read that.  Mine is slightly different.  I tried taking the door panel off with those instructions but it wouldn't even budge.  I took it to my mechanic, who tells me that the switch panel pops out without removing the door panel.  The part to replace the switches has been ordered.  I'm going to get him to show me how the switch panel comes out.
