Fuel pump replacement
« on: October 03, 2012, 10:09:21 AM »
I have a 2003 A4 1.8T FWD with 90K on it. the fuel pump would make terrible whinning noise when the weather got cold (t would stop if it was 70 deg or higher) Went to the dealership, they told me to replace the fuel pump and quoted me $720 to do it. I decided to do it myself so bought an OEM pump. Used the the DIY (It is a great write up BTW) I replaced the pump, put everything as it was.  When I put the key in and turned the it on, it makes a whinning noise, like its prepping up and then every time I hit the gas it makes the same noise. I think the noise is due to the priming of the pump. I would appreciate if someone can guide me to fix this. Is the pump bad? Do I need to replace the fuel filter as well to fix the noise?

Did you get this resolved? Might want to look into replacing fuel filter. Also double check make sure everything in hooked up correct. And you replaced with a new pump and not a rebuilt?

When I put the key in and converted the it on, it creates a whinning disturbance, like its preparing up and then whenever I hit the gas it creates the same disturbance.SEO Orange County can help you create a more accessible website. Please Click here information available
