Everyone:

I have decided to close the discussion forum.   It has become increasingly difficult to prevent spam from taking over the forum.   This, combined with the fact that I have sold my A4 makes the forum too difficult to upkeep.    I will leave it in place, but simply remove permissions to post new topics.

Thanks to all of the members who have joined and participated!

My buddy just bought a truck so he is looking to part with his audi.   This car great as is or it can be the perfect baseline for anyone looking to mod a B7.   It has everything you would want from the factory.

Black on Black 2008 Audi A4 with a 2.0T

Sport Package (lower suspension, firmer springs, bigger sway bars)

not one to normally post photos but temps are starting to drop here in the D....snow flurries are in the forcast and it's about that time of year to get back into 'winter mode'.    I haven't posted pictures in quite some time, so I figured id put a few up.  

I didn't take a lot of time on setup for these.  I was the only one there and I was not trying to hang around downtown detroit as night fell by myself with the audi and a $1000 worth of camera shit.  No tripod so some are a bit fuzzy.

images are all original - only modification was to add the border

canon xsi with a sigma 10-20 and a hoya pro cpl.... the rescaling of the pictures really does not do them justice... they look best in 'full screen'

Additional Questions - Non Writeup Specific / New way of installing rear coilovers... easy adjustment

I was so fed up with my STaSIS coilovers... the rears are impossible to adjust on the car. 

My wheels were rubbing and I needed to raise the car up a 1/4 inch or so yet i was breaking my knuckles trying to tweak the height.  The spanner wrench you get is not sufficient for adjusting the coilovers while they are installed... I decided to change up my install.

I figured out how to set them up with the adjustable perch on top... it has made my life a lot easier.

I would recommend anyone who had STaSIS or Koni colovers (or anyone other brand that is a pain in the ass to adjust) try installing them this way.

Additional Questions - Non Writeup Specific / Anyone know how this is possible...odd brake wear?

so I took my car out of the garage and drove it for a bit.... when I was braking (hard braking) I was getting a terrible shuddering feeling.  Then after about 5 of these, I started to get brake squeal.  This is very odd as my car usually brakes very well - perfectly straight, and completely quiet.

So I get home and take a look at my brakes and the outside pads on my passenger side are GONE.  The driver's side has A LOT of pad left, but for some reason the passenger side is done.  Whats even stranger is that the INSIDE pads on the passenger side are just fine...   here are some pics...

I can't even think how this is possible.  The brakes have never dragged (that I know of).  The caliper pistons are on the inside, so I cant see who the outside would wear without also wearing the inside... how can the outside pads be pushed in against the rotor, but not the inside?

any thoughts?

Additional Questions - Non Writeup Specific / P2138 - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch

I was messaged with the following:

i am getting a code p2138(Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "D"/"E" Voltage Correlation) on my A4 1.8 b6.  i replaced the throttle body and it is still coming back.  i am also getting bad gas mileage.

I checked into this and it looks like this is not a throttle issue - When you look up this DTC in the bentley it refers you to the throttle position sensor checking section - which turns out to be the accelerator pedal position sensor.

I would suggest running through this procedure, or just swapping the part.  If, however, the problem is with the wiring, then you would not fix the issue just by swapping the part.
